Richard Barnett has been the firms Managing Partner since 2009.

Richard was appointed Howard Worth’s first specialist farming partner in 1995 and was instrumental in developing our specialist Agricultural offering – making us a leading Cheshire practice for this sector – Howard Worth’s Agricultural Team now looks after around 600 farming clients from its Cheshire offices in Northwich and Nantwich. Our client base spreads well beyond the Cheshire borders with almost half the clients being located over a dozen or so UK Counties.

Under Richards direction the firm has expanded in recent years with the appointment of new Partners to develop the firms specialisms in areas of Strategic Tax Planning and Corporate Finance. The practice has even had a hand in shaping UK tax legislation as in 2014 The Chancellor, George Osborne visited us. He came to meet and talk to our young people. Our trainees presented a case for the abolition of employers national insurance for younger workers which actually became government policy the following year!

When not in the office Richard likes to spend time with his family and tries to keep fit at the gym.
