Partner Chris Smith has decided to get back in the saddle again to raise money for The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT).
He will be in a team of enthusiastic cyclists who all relish the challenge of managing sore limbs to generate much needed funds for CAFT so they can continue with their amazing work.
The cleverly named “Giro DAFiTalia” will take place from Wednesday 19th July to Saturday 22nd July. His journey will start in Tuscany in the shadow of the leaning tower of Pisa and will conclude when he crosses the finish line on the south east coast of France in Nice. The route will cover a distance of 256 miles and will follow the coastline of the Ligurian Sea. This year’s cycle challenge will take Chris to Genoa, Imperia and the Principality of Monaco on route to the final destination of Nice on the beautiful French Riviera at the foot of the Alps.
Even though Chris completed last years cycle challenge from London to Paris, he knows that second time around will be no easy ride! The vast elevation changes and the summer heat will certainly play a part in the testing nature of the route each day.
CAFT is a fantastic charity, based in the heart of the Cheshire countryside. It provides a variety of programmes for terminally ill, disabled and disadvantaged children from all over the North West and the work they do is simply wonderful. However to keep this fabulous charity running it has to raise in excess of £900,000 a year.
If you would like to make a donation please visit Chris’s JustGiving page, please click here.
Thank you in advance from both CAFT and Chris who are enormously grateful for any donations.
We’re thrilled to announce that Chris Smith a partner of Howard Worth has completed the charity bike ride, in aid of The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT). Chris and his fellow cyclists from CAFT completed the gruelling London to Paris journey in four days, covering an immense 347.2 miles and climbing over 14,500 feet of hills to get there.
Chris and his teammates began their challenge in Kent, boarding the ferry at Dover followed by three days cycling through France. Their journey took them from Calais, onto Lens, Compiègne and finally crossing the finishing line at the iconic Eiffel Tower, Paris.
Chris would like to say a very, very big thank you to everyone who has sponsored him with his challenge. You have helped Chris raise over £2,500 bringing the overall team CAFT total to almost £14,000 which is absolutely fantastic.
This amazing amount will help CAFT continue their wonderful work, helping to change the lives of some of the most vulnerable children from all over the North West.
Chris’s JustGiving page is still live so if you haven’t had chance to sponsor him as yet and would like to please click here.
Chris and CAFT are enormously grateful. Thank you very much indeed.
